On Editing During A Chinook
Updated: Sep 4
Yesterday, I had a blistering headache. A result of, if you haven't already guessed, the Chinook that descended on Calgary with the fury of an angry wind god. It seemed to come from out of nowhere, though there's more than a good chance it's because I wasn't paying attention to the news.
I usually don't mind Chinooks (which I just found out is a native word for "snow eater"), though the splitting headache meant I wasn't able to get as much edited as usual. I've been trying to finish the last half of this manuscript for the last 6 months, but with the birth of my first, all the medical appointments, and sleep deprivation, it's been tough to find time to get any work done. I'd carved out a few hours yesterday, but it seems the universe had other plans. I made a go of it, but just couldn't work through the pain. At least, not enough to trust that any of the edits I made would be good enough. Or legible.
Lets hope today goes better.
